17-β-雌二醇，是一種代表性的性激素。17-β-雌二醇可用卵巢、胎盤等制備，在卵泡液、胎盤、妊娠馬尿中均可檢出。進(jìn)入子宮上皮細(xì)胞后，與性激素受體形成復(fù)合體進(jìn)入細(xì)胞核，從而促進(jìn)新的蛋白質(zhì)合成，具有引起細(xì)胞增殖的作用。此外，能影響未成熟或切除卵巢的大鼠或小鼠的陰道分泌物，使呈現(xiàn)由角化細(xì)胞組成的顯微鏡象，所以也用作生物試驗(yàn)。
